Chasing My Rainbow

Rainbow over an island

Have you ever chased a rainbow? You know the endless journey to see the rainbow up close and personal or to get to the end of it and find some wonderful something that only your wildest dreams could imagine. Come on; think about it, I know you have because I have on numerous occasions. No one has every gotten to the end of a rainbow or caught up to one to my knowledge but we all still try to chase them as if we are going to be the person that catches it. I guess we all love the chase.

I have chased many rainbows and no matter how close I think I am, I am still so far away. It is amazing that I see a rainbow after a rain shower or thunderstorm and when I see it I totally forget about the storm that just passed and my day has a renewed sense of well-being and this feeling even if only for a moment is so wonderful. That feeling is an addiction and I want more of it so I start to chase the rainbow. Doing whatever to find a way to catch this rainbow but as usual it evades me with ease and without even a shimmer of doubt.

This rainbow provides a purpose for the chase because of the energy, beauty, wonder and serenity it radiates to others and myself who see it. I say, to myself, I have to catch it; I have to have that rainbow. I necessarily don’t want to own it or cage it up because that is not possible but I want to bask in its glory and feel that wonderful feeling as long as humanly possible whether it be second, minutes, hours or days. I would like to catch that rainbow. My rainbow is unique and special to me because as you know no two rainbows are alike and that what makes it even more special.

My rainbow is the embodiment of everything gone wrong turning right. It is a divine creation of turmoil and chaos that erases any doubt of the two once it appears. That feeling of my rainbow is the greatest feeling of all. My rainbow is She. Now as I end this short entry, what rainbow are you chasing?
