It is amazing that bullying has become such a major issue in today’s society. Kids are committing suicide and/or loosing their lives to other because of bullying. I do not think Bullying is right but its an inherent part of human nature. The stronger person 9 times of 10 will always pick on the weaker person until the weaker person stands up to that person. The bigger or older sibling picks on the younger sibling. The juniors and seniors pick on the freshmen and sophomores. The executives pick on the receptionist or the mail room clerk. It is a part of nature.

In my opinion Society has started raising soft-ass people. I am just saying. The issue is the self-esteem that is not instilled in the youths today by parents. How many of you remember the phrase, “sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me,” when you were growing up? Why are words carrying so much weight in todays society.

Well I blame it on the parents of this generation. The reason why is because the kids have low self-esteem and very low self -respect and there is no encouragement from the places that count. Communication, parents do not have an open line of communication with their kids so they can understand and teach their kids on the pressures of growing up. Yea, yea, I get it. You work too much and don’t have time, well that’s no excuse when your kid decides to kill himself or kill others because he/she was bullied and did not know how to deal with it.

Kids are going to be kids and until parents teach their kids better and being more involved in their lives its going to continue being a problem. The worst thing to find out is after the fact. I do not show pity on any parent that didn’t know what was going on in their kids’ life. I automatically assume you didn’t take the time to ask questions about his/her day nor does your child feel like they can talk to you about certain issues, which is a whole different problem in itself. The best way to deal with a bully is to stand up to a bully but parents and teachers and guardians should know about the issue before it gets out of hand. Its funny that we have such a bullying problem the United States of America is the biggest bully in the world…. look at the example we are setting for the kids.
